Moulding guide

Optimize stock only after member lengths are known.

The moulding planner packs verified outside long-point lengths into stock sticks. It does not derive them from a frame opening because profiles, rabbets, and saw references differ.

Prepare reliable lengths

  1. Establish the frame geometry using the actual profile and joining method.
  2. Make or calculate one matching long and short pair, then verify the intended opening.
  3. Measure outside long points using the same reference for every member.
  4. Enter each verified length and quantity into the stock planner.
  5. Reduce usable stock lengths for defects or pattern matching before optimizing.

Set the allowances

A mathematically fitting plan is not proof that mitres will close. Verify saw calibration and the first matching pair before cutting the batch.
